Primary Engineer

Many children never get the chance to engage with engineering early on, leaving their curiosity and problem-solving potential undiscovered before they choose a future career path.

Primary Engineer

Primary Engineer's vision is to ensure every child and pupil can achieve their full potential through engagement with engineering. Through its Construction Programme, teachers receive STEM-based professional development, enabling pupils to build and test their own vehicle models while interacting with engineering professionals in the classroom. Primary Engineer also runs "If You Were An Engineer, What Would You Do?", a free UK-wide competition open to pupils of all ages, encouraging them to identify a problem and propose a simple, understandable solution, with every entry reviewed and graded by an engineering professional.

With our support, in cooperation with Baxi UK/IRL, the competition is made possible across multiple English regions. Schools in the Warwick and Preston areas take part in the Construction Programme alongside volunteers from Baxi.

“A girl in my class was a regional winner this year. She has recently been diagnosed with autism. It was a real confidence booster for her.”
