The BDR Thermea Foundation is an independent foundation dedicated to the technical talents of tomorrow. As a catalyst for change, we build bridges between education, business and society.
Our approach
We believe in a targeted approach with measurable impact in the countries where BDR operates. In doing so, we focus mainly on scalable initiatives that have a lasting impact on society. We do not do this alone. We work closely with partners who share our mission and actively support organisations in making a difference. To increase our impact, we continuously measure and evaluate our results. We actively share the knowledge and experience we gain within our network.

Strengthening
Strengthening technical talent. We encourage the development of STEM competences: knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that young people need in a technical career. Through experiential learning and hands-on programmes, we make engineering tangible and attractive to all age groups.
Accelerating
Accelerating the energy transition. The energy transition requires new solutions and competences. We invest in research into sustainable technologies. Through our partnership we contribute to practice-based innovations that bring affordable and reliable energy closer to everyone.
Increasing
Increasing opportunities for all. We want technical talent to be able to develop, regardless of background or gender. We do this by removing barriers and promoting inclusion. We support children in vulnerable positions.
